If you will be asking students and parents to work on the corresponding Home-School Connection activity, then provide a copy of the paragraph for the child to take home.
Teacher Steps: Describe It
You or a student reads the first phrase or sentence from the paragraph. The other student reads the same material.
Continue this procedure to the end of the paragraph. Then, switch roles.
Students place these stories in their fluency kits.
Student Steps: Do It
Classwide
Tell all students, "Remove the paragraph from your fluency kits for Echo Reading."
Say, "I will read the first phrase or sentence, and you repeat it after me." Students reread the same material.
