# Using PICCOLO with Babies and Preschoolers

## [PICCOLO™](/content/product/piccolo/index.html) can now be used to observe developmentally supportive parent–child interactions with infants and older preschoolers!

Originally developed for use with children 10–47 months, additional research has validated use of the tool with babies 3–9 months and children 48–73 months.

Additional considerations and notes for each PICCOLO item are available to inform scoring for the younger and older age expansions.
